Report on the Inauguration of School Clubs

The inauguration of the various school clubs for the academic year 2026–2027 was held with great enthusiasm on 17th July 2026 at 9:30 a.m. in the school premises of Xavier School, Manvi. The programme aimed to encourage students to develop their talents, leadership qualities, creativity, and social responsibility through active participation in different clubs.The dignitaries on the dais were Rev. Fr. Wilson Bennis SJ, Principal, Mr. Basavaraj, Vice Principal, Mrs. Sunitha Bai, Coordinator, Mrs. Slany Sushma, Coordinator, and Sr. Philomena, In-charge of Clubs.The programme commenced with the Master of Ceremony, Sameeksha of Class VIII, who warmly welcomed everyone and conducted the programme with confidence. This was followed by a melodious prayer song presented by the Little Champs, invoking God's blessings on the new academic initiatives.

G. Priyadarshini extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, teachers, and students. The official inauguration of the clubs was marked by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp (Diya) by the dignitaries, symbolising the light of knowledge, wisdom, and new beginnings.Students then came forward one by one carrying placards displaying the names of the various clubs, introducing the audience to the diverse opportunities available for student participation.

Sr. Philomena, the In-charge of Clubs, introduced each club along with its teacher-in-charge and student leader. The clubs inaugurated were:

1. Yuva Tourism Club – Teacher In-charge: Mr. Basavaraj | Student Leader: Manoj

2. Eco Club – Teacher In-charge: Mr. Devendrappa | Student Leader: Zam Zam Kahan

3. Art and Craft Club – Teacher In-charge: Mrs. Slany Sushma | Student Leader: Vijaya Viksha

4. Dance and Drama Club – Teacher In-charge: Mrs. Poornima | Student Leader: Vaishnavi M.

5. Health and Wellness Club – Teacher In-charge: Ms. Arogya | Student Leader: Dixya K.

6. Heritage and Harmony Club – Teacher In-charge: Sr. Reshma | Student Leader: Fouzia

7. Science Club – Teacher In-charge: Mrs. Shilpa | Student Leader: Hadiya

8. Mathematics Club – Teacher In-charge: Mrs. Vinutha | Student Leader: Asif Ali

9. Language Club – Teacher In-charges: Mrs. Sunitha Bai and Mrs. Jamuna

10. Sports Club – Teacher In-charge: Mr. Manjunath | Student Leader: Areeb

11. Democracy Club – Teacher In-charge: Mr. Girish | Student Leader: Prathusha

 

In his inspiring address, Rev. Fr. Wilson Bennis SJ, Principal, encouraged every student to participate wholeheartedly in the club activities. He reminded the students that they should not choose clubs merely based on personal likes or dislikes. Instead, they should willingly accept every opportunity provided, as each club offers unique experiences and valuable learning. He emphasised that club activities help students discover new interests, develop skills, and enjoy learning beyond the classroom.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dharani of Class V, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, Vice Principal, coordinators, Sr. Philomena, teachers, student leaders, and all those who contributed to the successful organisation of the programme.

The inauguration ceremony was a meaningful beginning to the club activities of the academic year, inspiring students to participate actively, learn collaboratively, and grow into responsible, talented, and confident individuals.
