Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.

Xavier School, Manvi, celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 with great enthusiasm and commitment under the theme "Inspired by Nature, For Climate, For Our Future." The programme began with an invocation seeking God's blessings in the presence of the dignitaries: Principal Rev. Fr. Wilson Bennis, Vice Principal Mr. Basavaraj, and Coordinator Mrs. Sunitha Bai. A prayer song was presented, followed by a warm welcome to the dignitaries, staff, and students. The dignitaries then planted saplings, symbolizing their commitment to environmental conservation and a greener future. The gathering also enjoyed an inspiring environmental song composed and presented by the teachers.

The pledge-taking ceremony was led by Ms. Vinutha, who encouraged everyone to take responsibility for protecting and preserving the environment. An awareness speech was delivered by Chakri, a student of Class X, who emphasized the importance of planting trees to save our planet. He also recalled a valuable suggestion shared by our Principal during last year's Environment Day celebration—that students could celebrate their birthdays by gifting saplings to the school in their names, thereby contributing to the creation of a greener campus. Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. Wilson Bennis highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness in our classrooms, homes, and surroundings. He stressed that cleanliness and environmental protection go hand in hand and encouraged everyone to plant more trees so that future generations may benefit from the fruits of our efforts and enjoy a healthier environment.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all those who organized and participated in the celebration. Following the programme, students were sent class-wise to the school grounds and surrounding areas to take part in a cleanliness drive, putting the message of environmental responsibility into action. The celebration was a meaningful and inspiring event that created environmental awareness among students and motivated them to become responsible stewards of nature.
